Green Pepper Stir-fried Potato Slices is a very famous Northeastern home-cooked dish. It is easy to prepare, nutritious, and incredibly appetizing with rice.
Ingredients
- Green bell peppers
- Potatoes
- Onion
- Garlic
- Cornstarch
- Chinese cooking wine
- Five-spice powder
- Soy sauce
Procedures
- Cut two green bell peppers into medium-small pieces. Cut a large potato into quarters and then slice it.
- Cut half an onion into strips or small pieces.
- Chop four cloves of garlic into minced garlic.
- Heat oil in a pan, using more oil than usual for stir-frying. Fry the potato slices on low heat until one side of the slices turns golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of Chinese cooking wine, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, and one teaspoon of five-spice powder.
- Pour out some of the oil from the pan, then add the onion, minced garlic, green bell peppers, and the mixed sauce from step 5.
- Cover the pan with a lid for 30 seconds to allow the flavors to blend.
- Remove the lid and stir-fry on high heat for 1 minute. Then add 3 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of salt, and stir well.
- Mix one teaspoon of cornstarch with one tablespoon of water, then pour it into the pan and stir well.
- Remove from the heat and transfer to a serving dish.
