
Soy Sauce Chicken Drumsticks

If you have never tried this Soy Sauce Chicken Drumsticks before, then it is definitely worth a try! This dish perfectly combines tender chicken with the fragrance of soy sauce, making it irresistible.
Ingredients
- Chicken drumsticks
- Spring onions (scallions)
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Star anise
- Sichuan peppercorns
- Soy sauce
Procedures
- Cut two spring onions into large pieces and slice a small piece of ginger. Rinse one star anise and one teaspoon of Sichuan peppercorns.
- Remove bones from 3-4 chicken drumsticks
- Heat oil in a pan, add the spring onion pieces, ginger slices, star anise, and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry until the spices release their aroma.
- Place the chicken drumsticks in the pan with the skin side down. Fry for four minutes.
- Add 2 teaspoons of salt, then flip the chicken drumsticks and fry for another three minutes.
- Pour in 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and add water until it reaches the same level as the chicken drumsticks. Bring it to a boil.
- Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove the lid and boil the sauce over high heat until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and transfer the chicken drumsticks to a serving plate.
